I am a Midwestern girl who grew up watching my dad build beauiful, traditional furniture that we dislayed and used in our home.
After leaving the nest and moving into a small one bedroom apartment in Hawaii, I quickly realized if I wanted to get furniture that used quality materials, fit into the awkward nooks of our apartment, AND was affordable, I was just going to have to make it myself.
Now I have moved back to the mainland to the St. Louis area and have brought my furniture fascination with me. Here I plan to continue growing Ames Reclaims and hope to have a higher output than was practical when in Hawaii.
I am not a professional carpenter by any means, but my pieces are functional and made with a lot of heart.
Ames Reclaims products use recycled materials that I often pick up at the local re-use store. These materials add a lot of character and charm to my pieces and truely create furniture that is unique.
I hope you get as much joy out of the use of my furniture as I do making it!
